Robotics Teamwork Champions

The Robotics Team at Nebbie Nation has achieved remarkable success in the 2023-2024 school year, thanks in part to a generous $10,000 grant awarded to the school. This funding allowed the purchase of ten state-of-the-art Vex Robotics kits, significantly enhancing the team's ability to compete. Nine teams represented Nebbie Nation at the district tournament, and an impressive seven of them advanced to the finals. The hard work and collaboration of one particular team stood out, as they partnered with another to reach the highest goal in the finals round, ultimately securing Nebbie Nation's first-ever robotics trophy. This achievement highlights the dedication and teamwork that define the Robotics Team’s continued excellence.

Ozobots

At Nebbie Williams Elementary School, students participated in the International Hour of Code by learning to code using Ozobots—small robots equipped with sensors that follow color-coded paths to execute commands. Younger students got creative by cutting and coding paths on paper snowflakes, making their Ozobots dance in festive patterns. Meanwhile, older students reflected on their favorite memories from 2024, coding the Ozobots to represent these moments. It was a fun and engaging way to blend technology with creativity, while learning valuable coding skills! Thank you Britanie Talley for your technology expertise and helping our students learn coding skills.

SAGE LEGOS

Students in the SAGE program at Nebbie Williams Elementary School recently showcased their creativity and technical skills by designing their own Crazy Carnival Games using LEGO Education kits, made possible by a generous $10,000 grant received last school year. This hands-on project was part of the school’s celebration of International Hour of Code, a global initiative aimed at inspiring students to explore the world of computer programming. The students meticulously planned their builds, carefully selecting LEGO pieces, motors, lights, and sensors, then applied coding to bring their carnival games to life. Through this experience, the young innovators demonstrated impressive engineering, problem-solving, and coding abilities, while gaining valuable experience in both collaboration and technical design.
